Frequently Asked Questions

Knowledge is power, and that’s particularly true when it comes to dental health! In our experience, the more a person knows, the healthier they are, so we’re always happy to answer any questions our patients might have. On this page, we’ve compiled answers to some of the most common questions we receive every day to help you quickly bolster your dental IQ. If there is anything else you’d like to know about, don’t hesitate to give us a call.

How frequently should I see a dentist?

Dr. Kogan and Dr. Romano recommend that patients of all ages should visit a dentist at least twice a year for a checkup and cleaning even if they aren’t experiencing any problems with their teeth. This approach ensures that small problems are taken care of quickly, plus professional cleanings can prevent many minor issues from popping up in the first place.

My gums bleed every time I brush my teeth. Should I be worried?

You might be brushing and flossing with too much pressure, so try lightening up a bit! However, if the bleeding persists, this likely means that you have early-stage gum disease. The best thing to do in this situation is give us a call so we can take care of the infection before it has a chance to become worse.

One of my teeth really hurts…what should I do?

If you’re experiencing any kind of lingering dental pain or sensitivity, it could be a sign of a serious issue, so you should go ahead and give us a call. Waiting to address the problem will only allow it to get worse, so acting quickly can help save you from a major toothache!

Is it possible to straighten my teeth without metal braces?

Yes! With Invisalign, adult patients are able to correct their crooked, crowded, and gapped teeth without the people around them ever noticing they are undergoing treatment. It uses a series of clear plastic aligners to shift the teeth that look practically invisible when worn. They’re perfect for adults who want to undergo orthodontic treatment without affecting their daily appearance in the process.

How long does it take to repair a tooth?

This really depends on the extent of the damage/decay. For minor cavities, a tooth-colored filling can take care of it in just one appointment. For a broken tooth, however, a dental crown may be the best solution, which will require a patient to attend at least two appointments.

Will you accept my dental insurance?

We don’t accept any insurances on an in-network basis. However, we work with most insurances and submit all claims for patients to their insurances.
